Our 2025 Education & Mentorship Story: 1,000 Hours with High School and University Students

Jan 21, 2026

From high school all the way to master’s programs, .msg Romania’s involvement in educating the next generation of developers follows a clear strategy and a long-term vision: we’re here to give back to the community that has supported our growth over the past 15 years.

Whether we’re talking about teaching a full semester, running a summer internship program, or mentoring high school students, the 1,000+ hours we dedicated to education in 2025 helped us bring “real-life” work closer to students- projects, tools, teamwork, feedback, and hands-on learning.

Real-world experience, brought straight into the lecture hall

For years now, members of the .msg Romania team in Cluj have been delivering seminars and workshops in Cluj-Napoca’s universities. They bring to the classroom the practical experience they’ve gained working on complex projects, across diverse technologies, for top companies in Automotive, Insurance, and Banking. Some of our colleagues also teach in the German-language study programs, an extra layer of value for students.

In 2025, Ștefan Bartha and Diana Horincar taught Operating Systems within the Mathematics and Computer Science program, while Edith Karda taught Cloud Application Architecture at master’s level, in the German-language track. These are just a few examples of how we see the partnership between industry and academia: investing in high-quality content, rigor, and practical experience, aligned both with university curricula and with what the job market truly needs.

Summer internships: intensive, on-site training

For most students, their first real connection with the industry - and a future IT career - happens during an internship. In 2025, we built an intensive learning experience with a clear structure and up-to-date technical tracks.

We ran four internship programs, each focused on different technologies:

  • .NET training (.NET + React)
  • Python training (Python + React)
  • Cloud training (Azure, Terraform, Helm, Docker)
  • Java training (Java + Angular)

More than 60 colleagues from various departments contributed to making those five weeks of on-site training a success. And it truly was. Beyond the knowledge shared, we discovered talent we wanted to keep close: 18 interns joined our team as colleagues. For us, that’s one of the strongest signs that a well-designed educational program can become a real bridge between university and a career.

Summer also brought an extended mentoring session in Kiss Elemér Camp, a creative, team-based coding camp dedicated to students of Sapientia University in Târgu Mureș.

Fusion Talks: real conversations with .msg leaders

An IT company is about technology - but not only. Fusion Talks is the newest program we launched for students in fields like business, management, marketing, and more, with a central theme: innovation in business.

Together with students from FSEGA (Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj), we nurture entrepreneurial thinking and explore the strategic directions students should be ready for after graduation- whether they choose a career at .msg Romania or decide to build their own business.

The Fusion Talks series includes five sessions, each led by a company leader with over a decade of management experience.

Educational initiatives for high school students

Trust, curiosity, and the discipline of continuous learning - everything the tech world demands are best built during high school. That’s why in 2025 we continued to invest time and resources in staying close to high school students passionate about IT.

Through the WizzTech project, we rediscovered our passion for robotics alongside the student team at “Grigore Moisil” Theoretical High School in Timișoara. We support them not only with funding for competitions, but also with mentoring hours and hands-on workshops across technologies that help them develop their robot. And we never forget the most valuable lesson they can carry into a future career: teamwork.

“Discover Your Passion in IT”: mentoring that reached the podium

For the 2025 edition of Discover Your Passion in IT, we took a bigger step and expanded the number of hours dedicated to high school students, taking on two teams and two projects. We helped them learn how to build an application from scratch and those dozens of mentoring hours paid off with 1st prize in the competition for Airsy, a product we hope to see developed further by the students, plus a special prize for the Travel Master team.

The high school tour with UTCN: 250+ students across 5 cities

In university hubs, students can more easily connect with real projects and professionals in the industry. Outside those centers, students often have little to go on beyond online information. That’s why last year we continued our “field work” together with UTCN, visiting math-informatics high schools not only in Cluj, but also in Satu Mare, Baia Mare, Dej, and Beclean.

We met students with genuine passion for tech and gave them a realistic, no-fluff view of what an IT career involves. For them, clarity matters before they commit time and effort to university and a future career path.

What we’re taking forward into 2026

Looking back, 2025 reinforced something we strongly believe: real community impact comes from staying consistent and building strong partnerships. In 2026, we’ll keep investing in both university programs and high school initiatives - because digital skills and career guidance take time and grow through people and shared experiences.
