Customer Engagement Manager

The Customer Engagement Manager (CEM) is a senior leadership role within msg for automotive, responsible for the end-to-end performance and strategic development of software development and process consulting projects at automotive clients. The CEM acts as the central link between the delivery organisation, project managers, and account management — ensuring both customer satisfaction and commercial success.

  • Deep understanding of software development processes and lifecycle phases
  • Proficiency in both classical and agile project management methodologies (e.g. Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, hybrid approaches); pragmatic rather than dogmatic application
  • Familiarity with modern technologies and approaches: Cloud, DevOps, AI, DataOps, CI/CD, MLOps, Lean Startup
  • Experience managing multi-project environments for custom software development (Individualsoftware)
  • Knowledge of global delivery models including nearshore/offshore collaboration (Germany, Romania, India)
  • Ability to define and apply relevant KPIs for early visibility of project success
  • Working knowledge of IT contract law fundamentals
  • Relevant project management certification advantageous (PMP, PMI, IPMA)

  • Lead delivery performance and commercial targets across automotive accounts. Provide functional leadership to Project Managers — setting mandates, enabling goals, and managing staffing
  • Define delivery frameworks, implement the global Shared Delivery model, and continuously evolve PM methodology
  • Build long-term client relationships while collaborating with Account Management on account, portfolio, and pricing strategies
  • Drive business development alongside Account Managers and represent msg's values at every client touchpoint
  • Co-develop short-, mid-, and long-term account strategies, contribute to operating model transformation, and advance team development across all practice groups.
